Former Catillacs guitarist and frontman Richie Bean has teamed up with Georgia transplant Martha Ann Brooks along with Monte "Mudbug" Allen on Fender bass, and drummer Monty Lamb to form the Americana-Country-Rock band Lonesome Highway.
Bean and Brooks share the vocal spotlight as well as the guitar duties, often singing in tight harmony, and incorporating both acoustic and electric guitars, mando-guitar and harmonica. They do several originals ranging from folk-rock ballads to trippy psychedelic garage rock. Also covering songs by the likes of the Byrds (You Ain't Going Nowhere), Ryan Adams (Magnolia Mountain), the Decemberists (Down By the Water), Lucinda Williams (Can't Let Go), and Old Crow Medicine Show (Wagon Wheel), they are a dynamic and entertaining band.
Hailing from different parts of the United States, the members of Lonesome Highway bring a mixture of cultural and musical backgrounds to the table, which blend together in an interesting way. Richie is from Reno, Nevada, Martha from northwest Georgia, Mudbug from Louisiana, and Monty is from Portland, Oregon.
