Former Catillacs guitarist and frontman Richie Bean embarks on a new adventure, this time starting a killer country rock band. They cover such diverse artists as Dwight Yoakum, Bob Dylan, Ryan Adams, the Decemberists, the Jayhawks, Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welch, and the Drive-by Truckers to name a few. They also fit in some authentic American originals.
Riding shotgun is original Catillacs drummer and vocalist Susan "Crash" Costa, whose whiskey voice is a perfect foil for this heady stuff. Joe Wright, a rounder and chicken farmer found in the hinterlands near Vader Washington adds his guitar and mandolin skills, as well as some smoky vocals. Bass player Monte Allen has a storied past. Hailing from Louisiana, he's played bass in every situation you can think of, even working for a while as a member Little Richard’s backup band.
Knowing that he was taking a chance by switching to a different style, Richie was both happy and surprised to find that there is a large and appreciative audience for country rock in the Pacific Northwest. This was also evidenced by how quickly the band came together.
Lonesome Highway band incorporates acoustic and electric guitars, mandolin, harmonica, bass, drums, percussion, keyboards, slide guitar, and three strong vocalists.
